SENIORS MAKING ART
Our residents have created numerous works of art through Seniors Making Art, a specialized program pioneered by renowned Northwest artist Dale Chihuly that brings together artists and seniors in creative and collaborative ways. Residents have designed mosaics, watercolor art, greeting cards and more. One piece of art is on display at
Tacoma Art Museum and another at the national headquartes of AAHSA (American Association
of Homes and Services for the Aging) in Washington, D.C.

CHILDREN BRING A SPECIAL JOY
Children add special joy to our Home.
Monthly visits by a preschool and weekly Montessori student visits enrich the lives
of everyone at Columbia Lutheran.
Vacation Bible School programs, Camp Fire carolers, and trick-or-treaters add to the fun. The children and our residents quickly discover that  they both have much to learn from each other.

One-on-one volunteers lend a person touch to our Home with their regular visits.
Volunteers help facilitate a host of activities such as bingo, bowling, sing-a-longs, chapel,
cooking, crafts, movies, seasonal celebrations and much more. We also have a loyal
cadre of pet volunteers - dogs and cats - whose visits are welcomed by all.

Very special events include
a Mother's Day Tea, Father's Day Celebration,
the Annual Columbia Lutheran Summer Block Party, and trips to nearby Woodland Park

Zoo and the Rose Garden.
